Shopify migration FAQ
Will I lose my Google rankings when I move to Shopify?
Not if the migration is planned properly. Mapping old URLs to new ones with 301 redirects and keeping your page titles and descriptions protects most of your existing rankings.
Can you migrate customer passwords?
Most platforms do not allow password export, so customers set a new password on Shopify. I set up account invite emails so this is simple for them.
Should I move to Shopify or Shopify Plus?
It depends on your sales volume and needs such as B2B, checkout customization or multiple regional stores. See Shopify Plus development or ask on a call.
Will my store go offline during the migration?
No. The new store is built and tested separately, and the switch happens at a planned time, so your current store keeps selling until launch.
